“Nowadays the west has hyper commercialized and sexualized the gay thing but back in the old days same sex couples called it just love to be committed for life.”

-Comment under a youtube video.

I’m really against labels. Being able to identify yourself is good and all, but i dont like feeling like who I love and how I express it physically can fit into a box or is as simple as sexology. Maybe it is. Queer is hyper commercialized and sexualized, so much so that it’s not only gays who are being misidentified of their orientation, but also heterosexuals who carry mannerisms fitting with the idea/commercialization of what being gay is who are falsely being labeled too. (I’ve played that villain, out of insecurities of course.) Why does any of it matter?

Isn’t learning how to love unconditionally, correctly, much more important than how your orientation is defined? Shouldn’t love be the how? Shouldn’t love be the definition?

You dont have to get me, I get me.
